About Gloriously Tacky Girl

So here’s that part of blogs that nosy people like me love. I’ll try to keep it short.

Boring part first — I’m a 30-something girl trying to live my life in a smallish town that thinks it’s a big city. This means that life is somewhat affordable, but there’s not much to do besides go to restaurants, watch movies, and shop at the same stores you find everywhere else. On the plus side, this is a really beautiful area, and I love to explore the more natural areas. I’ve been here my whole life; my family is here — it’s home.

I have two jobs. I’m a full time Executive Assistant at a local Real Estate office. I work with some really great people. I also work part time in retail on and off. I’ve had this job for YEARS. My favorite part about it is the interaction with so many different people. So many stories! Not in it anymore, but you never know!

I have a crazy, wonderful family that I wouldn’t trade for anything. I’m the oldest sibling. I’m also the quiet one (surprise!). My extended family is awesome. We all have this really sarcastic, sick sense of humor that no one else understands.

My favorite person is my boyfriend. He knew I had a lot of baggage when we met, but that hasn’t phased him. He has helped me without asking for anything in return. With him, I have become a stronger, better person. He loves me. I love him. He’s absolutely amazing. I could go on and on, but it would get mushy. Suffice it to say that I don’t know where I’d be in life if God hadn’t put him in my life when He did.

Speaking of baggage. I have it. I’m still dealing with it. Part of the reason I’ve started this blog is to help me and maybe help others who are on a similar path. You see, I spent five very long years in an incredibly bad relationship. I lost myself for a long time. And now, after several years out, it’s time for me to start making people uncomfortable and telling life as it is.

Which brings me to faith. I am a Christian. I’m not perfect by any means. I don’t think I’m better than everyone else. I’m not sitting on some throne judging everyone. And let’s just say that Peter did a better job walking on water than I would. But I know God is real. He is almighty. I am a sinner. Christ died and rose again. And I have believed and accepted him as the Savior of my eternity. I tend to be very open-minded, but don’t try to sway me from my faith. Thanks. 🙂

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to warn you…My favorite place in the world is Disney World. When I go there, I go all out tourist mode. You know — Gloriously Tacky. I’m a huge Disney fan. I talk about it A LOT. You’ll see (insert sinister laugh here).

If you read all this…Congratulations! I’m pretty sure most people don’t make it this far. 🙂

There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle, The other is as though everything is a miracle.
